The S.C. House of Representatives will take off the week of Feb. 15 in an effort to make its case that the 6-month-long legislative session should be shortened.
The week off will save S.C. taxpayers about $77,000, according to House Speaker Jay Lucas, R-Darlington. The House already was planning to take unpaid furlough the weeks of March 28 and April 4.
The state Senate plans to be on furlough the week of March 28.
