Hillary Clinton to hold town halls in Florence, Kingstree

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be in Florence and Kingstree on Thursday to host town-hall-style meetings ahead of Saturday’s primaries.

According to Clinton’s campaign, she will host a “Breaking Down Barriers” event with U.S. Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday at the Cumberland United Methodist in Florence. Doors to the event open at 12:45 p.m.

Clinton is also scheduled to host a “Corridors of Opportunity” meeting at 11:30 a.m.. at the Williamsburg County Recreation Center in Kingstree. Doors to that event will open at 10 a.m.

Both events are free to the public, but anyone wishing to attend is asked to reserve a spot prior to the event.

On Tuesday, Clinton had a 28-point edge in the polls over Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.

She is entering the "first-in-the-South" primary with a close win in the Nevada Democratic caucuses last Saturday, with 53 percent vote to Sanders' 47. Clinton also took the Iowa Democratic caucus in a heated 49.9 to 49.6 win over Sanders.

Sanders won the New Hampshire Democratic primary by a wide margin, with 60 percent of the vote to Clinton's 38 percent.
