Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin is featured in a new television advertisement for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, discussing a letter he wrote to his daughters about why he is supporting the former secretary of state.

Benjamin, the president of the African American Mayors Association, says in the ad that he told his children that Clinton will fight for a country where "all of our sons and daughters have a chance to achieve their God-given potential."

Benjamin also says he told his daughters that Clinton will fight for equal pay for women and affordable college education.

The ad started running Wednesday in Columbia and run through the primary on Saturday, the Clinton campaign said.

Clinton leads U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont by 28 percentage points in the most recent Palmetto State polls.
