Amazon Fresh product recalled for a possible ‘serious or life-threatening’ problem
Three lots of Aplenty-Rotini with Plant Based Bolognese Meal Kits, sold online at Fresh and at Amazon Fresh brick-and-mortar stores, got recalled after a packing error put some consumers with a food allergy in danger.
Seviroli Foods, the distributor based in Garden City, New York, found that some of their products with milk were put in the meal kit’s packaging. The meal kit doesn’t include milk — so it’s not listed in the ingredients as an allergen.
This is a problem for those with a milk allergy.
“Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the Seviroli-written, FDA-posted recall notice states.
So, lot Nos. 1148, expiration date of May 28, 2022; 1161, expiration date of June 10, 2022; and 1161, expiration date of June 11, 2022 have been recalled. Toss this product or return it to the store for a full refund.
If you have a question about this recall, call Seviroli at 516-222-6220, Ext. 111, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time.
