SC man dies after falling from 2-story building

A Beaufort man died Thursday afternoon after he fell from a two-story building.

Robert Christopher Elsen, 35, was pronounced dead around 1:35 p.m. at Beaufort Memorial Hospital after he fell from a building on the 700 block of Duke Street in Beaufort, according to Beaufort County Deputy Coroner David Ott.

Elsen was working for a rodent control company that was working on the building at the time of his fall around 1 p.m., Ott said.

His body has been sent to the Medical University of South Carolina, where an autopsy will be conducted Friday morning.
