Man bought 7 North Carolina lottery tickets for $7 every Friday. It finally paid off
One North Carolina man’s persistence finally paid off.
That’s because Anthony Talladira walked away with a $110,000 prize after buying seven lottery tickets for $7 every Friday, according to the NC Education Lottery Service.
“After all that time, it finally paid off,” Talladira said in a news release. “It finally won out. It’s a blessing.”
Talladira bought his Cash 5 jackpot ticket on Aug. 25 at the Murphy USA on Blowing Rock Boulevard in Lenoir, the lottery service said.
He took home $75,273 after taxes on Nov. 8, according to the release.
Carolina Cash 5 is one of four lottery games where players have the choice of buying tickets via it’s website Online Play or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App, according to the lottery service.
NC Lottery did not say how long Talladira has been playing his Cash 5 numbers. The game has been around almost 16 years.
Tickets are $1 and drawings take place every night — with Nov. 9’s jackpot totaling $169,000, the lottery service said. The odds of winning the game are one in 962,598.
