Boy in viral heroin photo living in Myrtle Beach

A 4-year-old boy who was in a viral photo depicting a heroin overdose has moved to Myrtle Beach, according to a report from NBC News.

The child, who was in the backseat of a minivan while his grandmother and her friend were passed out in the front seats because of heroin overdoses, will be living with his great aunt and uncle, Lori and Terry Lane, in Myrtle Beach.

The grandmother, Rhonda Pasek, 50, remains in custody in East Liverpool Ohio. A 3-year-old child who was not in the van is now living with Pasek’s sister in Delaware.

The NBC News report said that the grandmother was watching the children because her son and his girlfriend couldn’t manage the children.

The photo, posted on social media by the East Liverpool Police Department, was intended to illustrate the dangers of heroin.
