'World's smartest dog' back in Spartanburg after hospital stay
Chaser the border collie, dubbed the World's Smartest Dog, has returned home after being hospitalized for an illness last week.
The Spartanburg dog, which has gained fame thanks to knowing more than 1,000 words, went to the hospital for having a low blood count. Veterinary staff determined she had immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, according to Chaser's Facebook page.
Chaser spent time at the University of Georgia veterinary hospital but returned home Wednesday after her immune system recovered, according to posts on Chaser's Facebook page.
Chaser belongs to John Pilley, a former Wofford College professor in Spartanburg.
