Pictured in SC school bathroom with gun, 17-year-old arrested
A Rock Hill teen in jail for the armed robbery of a pizza driver in March was charged Thursday by Rock Hill police with having a weapon at school after he posted a picture of himself with a gun.
Deh-Yami Wray, 17, was at the time of the incident on April 7 attending South Pointe High School during after-class hours to work with a teacher.
A police report says Wray took a picture of himself in the school bathroom holding a handgun.
Police determined that Wray, who turned 17 on April 6, had been escorted to the restroom wearing the same clothes he was wearing in the photo, officers said.
A police report said the photo of Wray was “posted,” and later was received via email by a police officer, but it does not say where the photo was posted.
Wray, who was charged with having a weapon on school grounds, has been in the York County jail since April 16, when he and another teen were charged with conspiracy, armed robbery and other crimes in a March 30 pizza driver robbery on the Winthrop campus. Wray’s bail has been set at $360,000.
