Officers looking for SC woman missing a month, possibly headed to Florida

Police in York County are looking for a woman, missing for a month, who was last seen in Rock Hill’s Mount Gallant Road area where the bodies of a teenager and a homicide victim were found in the past month.

The cases are not connected, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office.

York County sheriff’s officials announced Tuesday morning that they are looking for Mishelle Renee Calvert, 54.

Calvert had been staying off Bonnybrook Circle, north of Rock Hill and not far from Mount Gallant Road, for a month. She was supposed to return to Miami on May 8, Faris said.

Calvert did not make it to Florida, and has not answered her cell phone since last being seen in Rock Hill, Faris said.

“What we know is, she was supposed to leave and never arrived,” Faris said Tuesday morning.

Calvert was driving a Ford Five Hundred sedan with Florida license plate 4099GA.

Calvert is a black female, 5-foot-4 inches tall, and about 200 pounds.

Calvert is the second person who has been reported missing in the same general area in several weeks.

Jamie Magras, 18, who lived with her family in a nearby neighborhood, voluntarily left her home in late April and her body was found nearby May 1. Police said no foul play was involved in her death, but York County coroner’s officials have not released a cause or manner of death. Her body was found in the woods off Mount Gallant Road.

On May 25, in the same general area, police found the body of homicide victim Marlo Johnis Medina-Chevez. Police said Medina-Chevez was an Uber driver abducted from Charlotte. His body was found in a field off Mount Gallant Road.
