CONWAY William Goldfinch, IV, a 35-year-old Conway city councilman, was arrested early Sunday morning by the S.C. Highway Patrol for driving under the influence.

The charge is a first offense, and is listed at the Georgetown County Detention Center where he was booked after his 3 a.m. arrested. Goldfinch was released hours later at 10:30 a.m.

Goldfinch’s bond was set at $992.

Goldfinch has served as a councilman since 2010, and also works as a financial advisor.

When called at his office in Conway, a woman who did not identify herself said Goldfinch was not commenting, and then hung up the phone.

“He has nothing to say, he has no comment, and don’t call again, thank you,” the woman said.

A Freedom of Information request with the state patrol for the arrest report and dashboard camera video has been filed by The Sun News.
