4-year-old fatally shot at Spartanburg home

A 4-year-old girl has died after a shooting incident Friday afternoon at a home on Whitener Avenue, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said.

Carley Sinah Mack of Spartanburg was pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Coroner’s Office.

Spartanburg Police said officers responded to what appeared to be an accidental shooting at the home.

Maj. Art Littlejohn said the child was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Police believe the shooting was accidental, but are continuing to investigate, Littlejohn said.

The Coroner’s Office said the cause and manner of death are pending.
