SC teen arrested after explicit images of possible 2 year old found, deputies say

A Greenville County teen was arrested from his high school Monday after an investigation showed he was in the possession of child pornography, according to a sheriff’s office statement.

Shane McKenzie Johnson, 17, of Greenville, was charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after deputies found explicit images of his phone of children as young as 2 years old, according to his arrest warrants.

Deputies began investigating the teen in May after they received a tip, according to the statement. After executing a search warrant, they charged the teen, according to the statement.

Johnson uploaded and shared explicit photos of children on a social media site, according to his warrants. One photo showed a child between the ages of 2 and 4, and the oldest children depicted were between the ages of 10 and 12.

The images were also found on his cell phone, according to the warrants.

Johnson was arrested at Blue Ridge High School Monday.
