South Carolinians may soon be seeing a familiar face on their TV screen.

Chris Singleton, minor league baseball player and son of one of the victims of the Charleston church shooting, is getting married on live TV, according to a Tweet Thursday.

Singleton, along with his fiance, will appear on Lifetime’s My Great Big Live Wedding on February 19 at 10 p.m., according to the Tweet.

“You all can watch as we have a wedding we could only dream about!” Singleton tweeted.

My Great Big Live Wedding features eight couples working with renowned event planner David Tutera to plan a wedding, according to Lifetime’s website. Each week, a new couple is featured.

In the years since losing his mother, Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, at Emanuel AME, Singleton became a motivational speaker and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs organization in 2017. The 22-year-old plays for the South Bend Cubs, based in Indiana.

The day after the shooting, Singleton spoke to members of the media.

“I just say love is always stronger than hate,” he said. “If we just love the way my mom would, then the hate won’t be nearly as strong as the love is.”
