SC woman allegedly dragged sister under car after argument, sheriff says

A South Carolina woman was arrested and brought to court Wednesday after police say she ran over her sister and dragged her under her car, according to a statement from the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Department.

Kacie Carrigg, 35, was charged with attempted murder after the Dec. 12 crash, according to the statement.

When S.C. Highway Patrol troopers were initially called out to an Orangeburg County business, investigators believed the case was a hit and run, according to the statement. Later, investigators learned the woman was arguing with her sister, Carrigg, before the incident.

Carrigg then allegedly got in her car and hit her sister intentionally, according to the statement. The sister “suffered extensive injuries.”

“There is absolutely no sense in this,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said in the statement. “No matter who was right or wrong in an argument, there’s no justification for this. Period.”

Investigators found security video corroborating the story and arrested Carrigg, who faces up to 30 years of incarceration if convicted.
