Huge pot stash found during traffic stop on I-85 in South Carolina, sheriff says

Deputies found 75 pounds of pot during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in South Carolina, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

“Yesterday our traffic division had a huge day!” the department said Wednesday on Facebook, sharing photos of the haul.

The car was headed north on the highway that runs through Greenville County on its way from Atlanta to Charlotte.

The photos show dozens of large bags filled with what deputies said is marijuana, including one in which they appear to be stacked like a Christmas tree in the sheriff’s office.

Police regularly find drug shipments in cars traveling on I-85. In August, deputies found almost 2 pounds of methamphetamine after a car chase on the highway, WSPA reports.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina last year called I-85 a “meth highway” after a bust on the interstate there, according to CBS 17.
