Want to party with Clemson fans at title game? Flight options from SC just got better

The Clemson Tigers are heading to the national championship — and now their fans have more ways to get to the game.

A South Carolina airport is offering new nonstop flights so people can join the festivities in Louisiana, officials said Monday in a news release.

Greenville-Spartanburg International says passengers can fly new direct routes from its airport to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International for the Jan. 13 College Football Playoff championship game.

American Airlines added these nonstop flights:

  • Leaving Greenville-Spartanburg at 10:55 a.m. on Jan. 11
  • Leaving New Orleans at 8:10 a.m. on Jan. 14
  • Leaving New Orleans at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 14

United Airlines added these nonstop flights:

  • Leaving Greenville-Spartanburg at 12:00 p.m. on Jan. 11
  • Leaving Greenville-Spartanburg at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 12
  • Leaving New Orleans at 5:00 p.m. on Jan. 14

The announcement comes before the Clemson Tigers vie for a third national title in the past four seasons. The team is facing top-ranked Louisiana State University at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
