Lucky lottery player just won $25,000 a year for life in South Carolina. Was it you?
Someone in South Carolina has a lottery ticket worth $25,000 a year for life, according to the S.C. Education Lottery.
The winner hit the jackpot Thursday with a ticket bought at a gas station in Goose Creek, lottery officials said.
“Our message to the winner: Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” they said.
“Speak with someone you trust to help you decide whether to choose the for life prize option or the one-time lump sum payment.”
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize. They have the option to take the $25,000 for the rest of their natural life, for a minimum of 20 years, or a lump sum of $390,000, according to the lottery.
“The odds of winning $25,000 a year for life are 1 in 1,813,028,” lottery officials said.
