Tough luck, Hilton Head, Charleston. Three Grand Strand beaches rank among country’s best

Three Grand Strand beaches were ranked among some of the best beaches in the nation, according to Tripadvisor’s 2020 Best-of-the-Best.

The stretch known as Litchfield Beach, nestled between Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island, was ninth on the list of 25 best beaches in the United States. The beach is open year round to tourists and locals who enjoy walks, fishing and sunbathing.

Myrtle Beach was ranked 17th, followed by Cherry Grove Beach in the North Myrtle area, ranked 20th.

Spanning miles down the Strand, Myrtle Beach’s iconic skyline includes the SkyWheel. The city offers 7-day parking passes for $30 to its visitors. Cherry Grove Beach is home to the longtime fishing pier, where folks may visit to purchase bait or grab a bite to eat at the cafe.

Other beaches that made the list include No. 1 ranking Siesta Beach, Florida; Ka’anapali Beach, Hawaii; and Cannon Beach, Oregon. The Best-of-the-Best beaches across the country were ranked by travelers.
