Someone just hit the jackpot in South Carolina with $200,000 lottery ticket

The odds of picking the right numbers to win $200,000 on the Palmetto Cash 5 lottery drawing are 1 in 1,003,884, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

One person got lucky and hit the jackpot in Wednesday night’s drawing, lotto officials said.

The winning ticket was sold at a Kangaroo Express in Gaffney, South Carolina, officials said. Winners have 180 days to claim their prize.

The ticket matched all five numbers for a $100,000 win, and then the jackpot was doubled with the “powered-up” option.

“More than 5,200 Palmetto Cash 5 players won prizes from $1 up to $200,000 in last night’s drawing. More than 3,500 players spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have their winnings multiplied by two when claimed,” lottery officials said.

The winning numbers Wednesday were: 4 - 8 - 16 - 18 - 22 and Power-Up: 2.
