911 dispatcher caught using mirror to peek at man in Lowe’s bathroom, SC police say

A 71-year-old 911 dispatcher has been charged with voyeurism after he was caught using an inspection mirror to spy on a man in the bathroom stall next to him at a Lowe’s, according to police in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Officers arrived at the home improvement store Tuesday, responding to a call about “a male subject shining a mirror underneath the male bathroom stalls,” and arrested Ralph Talbert Jr., a Bradley County resident.

According to the police report, the victim told police he noticed the small mirror positioned below the stall divider as he was reaching to get some toilet paper. He exited his stall to confront Talbert, and when he asked Talbert if he had been peering at him with the mirror, Talbert acknowledgedhe had been.

The victim then called police, the report states.

Talbert worked part-time as a dispatcher for Greenwood County, and Lander University, the Index Journal reported.

The Greenwood Sheriff’s Office confirmed he was fired from his job with the county Tuesday.

A spokesperson at Lander University said Talbert was no longer employed there, the outlet reported.
