A South Carolina woman was seriously injured after falling 20 feet from a deer stand.

The stand had been set up about half a mile into the woods near Islandton when she fell Saturday afternoon, according to Colleton County Fire Rescue.

Medics treated the woman at the scene when they found her off a small dirt road, the fire department said.

Rescuers then brought her to a CARE Flight helicopter that was waiting at the Islandton baseball field to airlift her to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

The woman’s current condition is unknown at this time.

Islandton is a community about 65 miles west of Charleston.
