Where to fill your tank before Thanksgiving for under $3: Cheapest gas in Columbia area
President Biden addressed the nation yesterday and promised to moderate the price of gas in order to lower the cost at the pump for Americans, as an estimated 50 million people across the country prepare to drive for their Thanksgiving celebrations.
But shoppers in the market for cheap gas in the Columbia area don’t have to wait for the release of reserves. If they drive to Blythewood, Seven Oaks or Woodfield to fill up their tanks, they can find gas selling for as low as $2.77 a gallon, though in downtown Columbia, it sells for up to $3.15.
The most inexpensive gas in the Columbia area seems to be in Blythewood, where name brand gas stations like Exxon, Shell, and BP are selling gas to customers for well under $3. The cheapest is now at the QuikTrip on 10320 Wilson Blvd, where prices start at $2.77.
Columbia residents heading south for Thanksgiving may prefer to stop near Seven Oaks. Gas at the Shell and Murphy USA stations on Bush River Road is selling for just under $2.85 a gallon.
Near the Village at Sandhill shopping center on Two Notch Road, gas prices are also lower than the average cost in the city. Sam’s Club members can fill up for $2.75, but for only one cent more per gallon, nonmembers can fill their tanks at the Circle K on Clemson Road.
