Earthquake strikes the Midlands, marking the 16th in SC this year

An earthquake shook a South Carolina Midlands city Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Geologists recorded a 2.1 magnitude earthquake near Camden, according to their website.

The earthquake struck at about 10 a.m.

Anyone who felt the earthquake can report it to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Friday’s quake was the 16th recorded in South Carolina this year. The Palmetto State saw an unusually large cluster of earthquakes in January.
