A South Carolina restaurant was just named a top date night spot — and now its cheeseburgers are getting praise.

Husk, located in the tourist destination of Charleston, ranks as the state’s No. 1 best place to get a burger, according to results published Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The Charleston eatery topped the list after the review website Yelp studied businesses with multiple burger-related reviews. It then “ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning ‘cheeseburger’ between January 1, 2022 and July 15, 2022,” results show.

Husk, which earned the top spot in South Carolina, is no stranger to receiving recognition.

Earlier in August, the restaurant reservation website OpenTable named Husk among the country’s best places to go on a romantic date. While that list focused on the experience of a night out, the most recent rankings considered an item that’s often served earlier in the day.

Cheeseburgers have made it onto Husk’s rotating brunch menu several times this month. On Yelp, customers said they couldn’t get enough of their patties topped with onions or pickles, helping the restaurant to earn four stars out of five.

Some fans also took their praise to Instagram, where photos show melted cheese oozing between two buns.

Husk — which also has locations in Nashville, Tennessee, and Savannah, Georgia — runs on strict principles.

“At Husk there are some rules about what can go on the plate,” the business wrote on its website. “If it doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door.”

The Charleston restaurant is on Queen Street, just off the popular shopping hot spot of King Street. Though the city’s eateries have been honored time and time again, they missed out on another recent burger list.

No restaurant in the Palmetto State was named among those serving the nation’s “most outrageous” burgers. The rankings included a creation consisting of four patties stacked between Belgian waffles, McClatchy News reported in June.
