A South Carolina man working with a tractor was killed when it landed on top of him, officials said.

The man was using a 1958 International tractor “when it flipped for an unknown reason trapping him underneath,” Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said in a news release.

The man died at the scene. He was identified in the release as 56-year-old Kenneth Dale Childers.

The incident was reported at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Officials said it happened on Childers’ property in Blacksburg, roughly 55 miles northeast of Greenville.

“The coroner said he has ordered an autopsy to assist with his investigation into the fatal accident,” officials wrote.
