“Dateline NBC” podcast to highlight infamous Charleston SC murder-for-hire plot. What to know
A sordid tale of betrayal and murderous intent involving a former Charleston banker and his now ex-wife will be featured in a “Dateline NBC” podcast starting next week.
The national weekly news show’s latest podcast, debuting Tuesday and titled Murder & Magnolias, will report on the 2013 plot involving Chris Latham, a former Charleston banker. The podcast will be hosted by Keith Morrison, an award-winning correspondent for “Dateline NBC.”
“The six-episode series will feature exclusive interviews with insiders connected to the case, including a new sit-down with Nancy Cannon, the woman at the center of the investigation,” a statement from “Dateline NBC” reads.
Latham was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2014 after being accused of scheming with his then girlfriend, Wendy Moore, to have Cannon killed, according to a Post and Courier report. Cannon at the time was Latham’s estranged wife and the two had been in the middle of a contentious divorce.
Latham never wavered on his claims of innocence.
“I want to be crystal clear,” the Post and Courier reported Latham said at his sentencing. “I am 100% innocent.”
Listeners can get the first two episodes for free on Tuesday or they can subscribe to Dateline Premium on Apple Podcasts to get them ad-free now. The series will also be available on Amazon podcasts, Google podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher.
