Guy Fieri went full throttle for one particular South Carolina restaurant for good reason, according to an online food publication.

The celebrity chef, known for his over-the-top food and personality, has given his stamp of approval at more than 1,300 restaurants over the years through his popular Food Network show, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

The show has spent more than 40 seasons highlighting local restaurants across the U.S.

But out of all those restaurants, which ones are the best?

Mashed says it has the answer. The multi-platform online publication that focuses on food trends, buzz-worthy restaurants and recipes, has compiled a list of the 50 best restaurants in each state featured over the long run of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

Early Bird Diner in Charleston was picked as Fieri’s top restaurant for South Carolina.

Open since 2008, the restaurant serves breakfast and lunch every day, offering everything you could want, from pancakes and omelets, to burgers and fried green tomato sandwiches. Its arguably most popular dish and the one featured on Fieri’s show, is the chicken and waffles meal.

Featured in a 2011 segment, the chicken and waffles comes with honey mustard along with the syrup to give the dish an extra zing of flavor.

“It seems so wrong but it just feels so right,” Fieri said in the video about the restaurant’s unique take on chicken and waffles.
