Bojangles to sell alcoholic sweet tea in SC soon. Here’s when and where you can buy it
Bojangles is about to add some extra kick to its ‘legendary’ sweet tea.
The Carolina-born fast food chain has partnered with Appalachian Mountain Brewery to produce Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea, according to a Tuesday press release.
Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea is set to hit shelves in March in South Carolina and North Carolina. However, it will not be sold at any Bojangles restaurants. Instead, the hard tea will be available at retailers and chains including, Circle K, QT, Sheetz, Spinx, Harris Teeter, Ingles, Lowes, Walmart and Food Lion.
Bojangles plans to sell the beverage in the form of 12-pack, 12-ounce cans and individual 16-ounce cans. Also, the company expects to expand the sale of the hard sweet tea to other states in the near future.
“This collaboration is something sweet,” Jackie Woodward, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer for Bojangles, said in the press release. “Partnering with AMB to craft our Legendary Iced Tea into a hard tea for fans of legal drinking age was a natural fit, and the team poured passion into the entire process. We can’t wait for fans to try it!”
AMB opened its taproom in 2013 in Boone, North Carolina. It has brewed multiple award-winning beers ever since, earning awards such as a Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal for Boone Creek Blonde Ale, Gold Medal for their Down South Lager and Silver Medal for Hop Rain Drop IPA.
“AMB couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with such an iconic Carolina company,” Nathan Kelischek, AMB founder and brewmaster, said in the press release. “Bojangles sweet tea is a staple across the South and has earned its ‘legendary’ title. AMB has always been dedicated to making the highest quality craft beer and cider, and the same can be said for this authentic Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea.”
Bojangles has approximately 800 restaurants spread across 15 states and is known for its Southern-inspired menu, including its fried chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and sides.
