It’s Miss South Carolina week 2023. Here’s when and how to watch the competition

The 2023 Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen Competition begins with the first preliminary round Tuesday night.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at Township Auditorium in Columbia.

There are 47 women vying for Miss South Carolina, which the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization is hosting for the 86th year. Miss Teen has 34 contestants.

The competition will continue with preliminary rounds Wednesday and Thursday. Miss Teen will be crowned Friday and Miss South Carolina on Saturday. Miss South Carolina will be broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. on WACH Fox TV.

Miss South Carolina 2023 will receive a $60,000 scholarship and will compete for the title of Miss America. Miss South Carolina’s Teen 2023 will receive a $10,000 scholarship and will compete for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.

Tickets cost $52.50 for preliminaries, $64.50 for the teen final and $79.50 for Miss South Carolina final. The full series package is $244.95.

Saturday night ends the reign of Miss South Carolina 2022 Jill Dudley, who used her year to advocate for rape survivors.

A Socastee native and rape survivor, Dudley’s focus has been on examining the myths of rape culture, share stories of survival and encourage bystanders to get in the fight. Her platform is called Shatter the Cycle.
