SC has one of 30 best food trucks in the US, Yelp says. Here’s where to find it, why it’s great

A South Carolina food truck made Yelp’s top 30 food trucks.

It’s The Pineapple Hut on West Erie Avenue in Folly Beach. There are also locations in Myrtle Beach and Charleston.

Yelp selected the top food trucks based on rave reviews and by which ones stand out.

If you’ve ever been to Disney and had a Dole Whip you know exactly what they’re serving. The Pineapple Hut describes their version as “tropical inspired dairy-free soft serve.”

It is vegan, fat free, low calorie, gluten free, cholesterol free and contains Vitamin C and probiotics.

You can also get a pineapple float, chunky whip served with layers of pineapple chunks. The nest seller, paradise whip is a pineapple whip served inside of half a pineapple. They also have another flavor available each day.

Sara P. from Virginia wrote on Yelp that Pineapple Hut is addictive in the best possible way. She and her family stayed at Folly Beach for five days and went there every day.

She described the Pineapple Whip as the perfect balance of tartness, creaminess, and refreshment.

“One remarkable thing about the Pineapple Hut’s pineapple whip is its incredible creaminess and lightness, all while being completely dairy-free. It’s truly astonishing how they achieve such a fantastic texture and taste without any dairy products,” she wrote.

The Pineapple Hut was listed as No. 20 on Yelp’s list.

No. 1 was Tony’s Catch in Kapaʻa, Hawaii, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Yelpers say get the fish tacos.

The others in the top 10 were Jim’s Smokehouse — Austin, Texas; Jojo’s Hot Chicken — San Jose, California; Acqua e Farina by Ciro Esposito — Miami, Florida; Surf 2 Soul — Astoria, Oregon; Capitol Burger — Torrey, Utah; Taco Rico — Tucson, Arizona; Pico House — Los Angeles, California; LoRell’s Chicken Shack — Portland, Oregon and Deckhand Dave’s Fish Tacos — Juneau, Alaska.
