UPDATE: The lucky jackpot winner has come forward to claim their $524,000 prize, a South Carolina Education Lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News in an Oct. 22 email.

A lottery player is set to get much richer after hitting the jackpot in South Carolina.
The player bought a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Oct. 18 drawing, making it worth more than a half a million dollars, results show.
The winning numbers: 13-14-26-38-40.
The player won $524,000 after trying their luck in Timmonsville, a roughly 70-mile drive east from Columbia. The ticket came from the town’s Super Mart convenience store, the S.C. Education Lottery wrote in an Oct. 21 news release.
Tickets for the Palmetto Cash 5 rolling jackpot game start at $2. After the winner beat 1-in-850,000 odds to win big, the lottery hopes the lucky ticket holder will come forward.
“Check your tickets,” said the lottery, which gives Palmetto Cash 5 winners about six months to claim their prizes.
