A husband found his 71-year-old wife drowned in a South Carolina pool, a coroner’s office told news outlets.

The man discovered his wife at their home at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7. He couldn’t pull her from the pool and called 911 for help, the Anderson County Office of the Coroner told WHNS.

First responders got the woman out of the water. She died at the scene in Belton, a roughly 25-mile drive south from Greenville, the coroner’s office told WYFF and WSPA.

The woman was identified in news reports as Deborah Jones.

Officials don’t suspect foul play in her drowning death, TV stations reported.

The coroner’s office didn’t immediately share additional information with McClatchy News on June 9.
