‘Abandoned’ dog walks up to shelter fence — ‘eager to join in.’ He needs a home
An “abandoned” dog walked up to a shelter fence, “eager to join in.”
Now, the South Carolina pup needs a home of his own.
“He’s as sweet as they come and full of potential,” the Greenville Humane Society wrote July 2 on Facebook. “He just needs someone to give him a chance.”
Brick waits for a fresh start after he stumbled upon a shelter training class, called Brickyard Basics. The humane society said the dog had been dumped on its property and was “alone” and “confused.”
“Instead of hiding or running, this brave little guy sat at the fence, watching the class with bright eyes and a wagging tail — like he knew he was supposed to be there,” the shelter wrote. “It felt like he was asking, ‘Can I learn too?’”
The shelter took in Brick, who is sick with a “puppy cold.” Now, workers hope the dog will get better and gain trust in a foster home.
“We named him Brick because he showed up during Brickyard Basics, and because he’s already laying the foundation for a better life,” the shelter wrote.
As of July 2, the shelter’s website said the 1-year-old mixed-breed pup was waiting to go into foster care. He’s not yet available for adoption, the humane society wrote in a Facebook comment.
