As the days get longer and hotter, the time to plan your summer vacation is right around the corner.

There are amazing places to visit across the nation, but depending on how tight your budget is, summer travel for you and your family may look a little bleak.

Thankfully, a new report highlighting the most affordable spots for family vacations in the U.S. was just released.

Finding the perfect balance between fun, fresh air and a reasonable price can be tricky for families, so Little Sleepies, a baby clothing company, found the best spots in the nation so you don’t have to.

In their report, out of the 102 destinations they analyzed, a South Carolina coastal city ranked among the top five destinations to visit with the family.

Here’s the city and why it ranked so high:

Myrtle Beach is the No. 5 spot in US

Myrtle Beach was recognized as the most affordable family vacation destination in SC and the fifth-best spot in the U.S.

The study ranked Myrtle Beach highly, mostly for its lodging affordability, kid entertainment and premium attractions. It’s hard to go anywhere in Myrtle Beach and not see a new miniature golf course to try out.

Myrtle Beach was also listed as a destination most likely to entertain children. The vacation resort has bright attractions, such as arcades, souvenir stands and the old-fashioned Family Kingdom amusement park. Families can be kept busy from morning to evening with the city’s long list of activities.

Other key attractions include the iconic SkyWheel, Ripley’s Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach and over 60 miles of beach.

While it shines for entertainment and beach access, it loses points for higher peak‑season prices, making it less affordable than some higher‑ranked destinations, according to the report.
