Michael Jordan’s agent — who coined ‘Air Jordan’ — selling $25M SC oceanfront home. Take a look
The oceanfront home of Michael Jordan’s longtime agent David Falk, known for coining the phrase “Air Jordan,” is on the market for $25 million.
If sold at the list price it would be the most expensive home sold on the sea island.
It is located at 88 Surfsong Road on one of the widest pieces of Kiawah land beside the Atlantic Ocean. With 1.24 acres, it includes a private beach boardwalk, 110-foot pool with infinity waterfall, roofed spa and cabana with outdoor fireplace.
From the top floors you can see the entire island’s curvature.
The house covers 8,851 square feet with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and was built in 2006.
The two-story living room — which at 59 feet is about the size of a small airplane — opens above to a large oval gallery.
In the dining room, there is a wet bar with a wall-mounted faucet, wine glass racks, an undercounter wine cooler and a large nook with a built-in banquette.
The kitchen, which opens to the dining room, includes a Viking gas cooktop with removable griddle, Dacor dual wall ovens, and Sub-Zero commercial-style refrigerator.
The kitchen’s center island has a breakfast bar, stainless dishwasher, and primary and prep sinks.
The two-story primary suite encompasses the eastern side of the house and includes a fireplace with a lighted glass-tile hearth, wall-mounted bed reading lamps, a second-floor overlook, and two stories of windows facing the ocean.
The bathroom has dual sinks, a standalone MOMA Design glass tub, glassed-in walk-in shower, and large walk-in closet with built-in shelving.
The second story has a balcony, an open sitting area beneath a bay window, bookshelves, and a home office.
The house also has a sunroom with a study and floor-to-ceiling glass wall and entry doors with an expansive view of the ocean. There are three guest suites with ocean views and baths off the gallery.
The staircase leads to two top-story guest suites with wood-beamed vaulted ceilings and sitting nooks. One has a fireplace. The suites share a kitchenette.
The west wing on the first floor has a vestibule from the pool deck to a room used as a fitness room with a beverage station, laundry bath and mudroom with a separate shower room.
The house has an elevator, custom floor medallions, tile mosaics and tilework and lead-coated copper roofing. There is a two-car garage and five landscaped outdoor parking spots.
A Kiawah Island Club Golf Membership is available with the purchase of this property, which offers access to golf at Cassique and River Course, a 9,000 square-foot fitness facility, beach clubs overlooking the ocean, five-star dining experiences, spa, boathouse, Marsh House, and Two Meeting Street Inn, a c. 1890 Queen Anne Victorian mansion located south of Broad Street in the heart of historic downtown Charleston.
Doug Lee of Kiawah Island Real Estate listed the property.
Falk also represented Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning. He started his career as an agent in 1974 with ProServ, then in 1992 formed Falk Associates Management Enterprises (FAME).
“In 1985, he negotiated Michael Jordan’s ground-breaking deal with Nike — the most successful endorsement relationship in history — and, in the process, coined the nickname “Air Jordan,” his biography on Washington Speakers Bureau says.
He sold FAME to SFX Entertainment in 1998 and was chairman and on the company’s Board of Directors. Falk left in 2001 and in January 2007, he re-launched FAME.
In the film “Air,” he was played by actor Chris Messina.
