Fishing is one of America’s most popular Father’s Day traditions, and if you want to really show your dad some appreciation, taking him to a place that’s known for its awesome fishing will do the trick.
FishingBooker, an online platform that connects anglers and fishing guides, released a report that revealed the most popular fishing destinations for Father’s Day. They analyzed booking patterns across the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Father’s Day periods to identify the destinations with the highest and most consistent angler demand.
“Father’s Day is one of the biggest days on the fishing calendar. These destinations consistently deliver the experiences that make it memorable — strong catches, great captains, and the kind of day that becomes a tradition,” said Vukan Simic, FishingBooker’s CEO, in a press release.
South Carolina is well-known for its fishing scene and claimed two spots in the top 10 of the ranking, making it the strongest-represented East Coast state in the entire dataset.
Here are the two SC spots that ranked among the most popular fishing destinations in the nation for Father’s Day:

According to the report, Hilton Head Island ranked 8th in the country as the most popular fishing destination when celebrating Father’s Day. Hilton Head regularly makes an appearance in the top 10 each year and was an especially strong performer back in 2024, when it ranked 6th in the country.
Murrells Inlet ranked 10th, consistently being great for fishing over the past couple of years. There are dozens of areas in Murrells Inlet to cast and attempt to reel in impressive-sized fish.
