Expecting Columbia couple earns $250,000 from lottery
A Columbia couple with a baby on the way purchased an S.C. lottery ticket and is now a quarter of a million dollars richer, according to lottery officials.
The couple purchased the ticket at Kangaroo Express #3486, 5425 Forest Drive, about a month ago and cashed in the $250,000 winning ticket Monday morning, according to a news release from the S.C. Education Lottery. The business also received $2,500 in commission for selling the claimed winning ticket.
The husband stated the couple started playing the lottery for fun and purchased a $10 Money Money Money scratch-off.
As of this release, three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Money Money Money game.
The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
