Man armed with frying pan meets woman carrying Taser

A Myrtle Beach man attacked a woman with a frying pan who pulled a Taser on him in defense outside of an apartment Wednesday morning, according to witnesses.

Myrtle Beach police responded to 405 27th Avenue North in reference to an assault about 10:30 a.m.

A victim told police he was inside an apartment listening to 22-year-old Shakim Bernard Brown vent about his girlfriend when Brown became very upset, according to an incident report. The victim said Brown began to chase after him with two knives and a frying pan as he was exiting the room.

The victim escaped, but told police he saw Brown hit his girlfriend with the frying pan as she sat on the second floor stairwell.

The girlfriend told police Brown hit her on her left arm for no apparent reason so she retrieved her Taser and pointed it at him.

Other witnesses corroborated the account, but Brown told police the victim pulled a knife on him first and that he blacked out after the Taser.

Brown was charged with two counts of assault.
