Motorcycle collides with semi in fatal Lexington County accident

First responders were on the scene of a deadly wreck Friday morning in Lexington County.

Around 6 a.m., a tractor trailer and motorcycle collided on US-321, the Charleston Highway. The wreck happened near Minolta Drive and Colony Park Lane, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper David Jones.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the motorcyclist as 26-year-old Wesley Grant Hutto of North, SC.

"[Hutto was] traveling northbound, when he collided with a southbound tractor trailer as it made a left turn. Mr. Hutto, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries," Fisher said in a press release.

The southbound lane of US-321 was blocked for hours after the accident but is now open.
