An Irmo man died before he was involved in a crash on Harbison Boulevard, the Richland County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.

The crash occurred just before 4:30 p.m. Monday, when Charles F. Sowell ran off Harbison, Coroner Gary Watts said in a news release.

The 71-year-old had a heart attack before the collision on the Columbia road, according to the release.
