Early-morning collision blocks traffic on interstate heading to Columbia

The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 77, the South Carolina Department of Transportation said on Twitter.
As a result of the wreck, two northbound lanes on I-77 were closed near Exit 19, according to the tweet. That’s the Farrow Road exit, about a mile from the junction with Interstate 20 on the northeast side of Richland County.
No injuries were reported in the collision, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
Information on the number of vehicles involved in the crash was not available.
The highway was jammed with vehicles following the wreck, traffic cameras showed.
SCDOT tweeted all of the lanes on I-77 were reopened shortly after 7 a.m., and cameras showed traffic flowing through the area.
The wreck happened about an hour after a collision in the Malfunction Junction area blocked an exit on Interstate 26.
At about 5 a.m. a tractor trailer overturned on the westbound side of I-26 and blocked the ramp at Exit 111, SCDOT tweeted. That’s the exit for Augusta Road.
As of 7 a.m., the exit ramp had not reopened, and information on possible injuries in the crash was not available.
