The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Interstate 20, and all of the westbound lanes were blocked near Exit 70, the South Carolina Department of Transportation said on Twitter. That is the Fairfield Road exit, with the junction for U.S. 321 in Richland County.

Injuries were reported in the collision, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Information on the condition of the people involved in the wreck, and the number of vehicles involved, was not available.

There was no word on the cause of the collision.

Emergency vehicles were on the scene and a car flipped over on its top, WACH reported.

Traffic cameras showed vehicles backed up for miles on I-20.

All lanes on the highway were reopened shortly after 2 p.m., SCDOT tweeted.
