A crash on Interstate 26 West near Chapin Friday morning has brought traffic to a standstill.

The crash, which appears to have involved a tractor trailer, occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. about a mile east of Exit 91.

The collision has tied up westbound traffic on the interstate for more than two hours, with congestion stretching about four miles, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation’s online traffic map.

The cause of the crash and information about any injuries was not immediately available.

As of 11:55 a.m., the left lane of I-26 remained closed, according to SCDOT.
