Train hits truck, closes Midlands road Wednesday morning

Authorities have closed a roadway in Chapin after a train collided with a truck Wednesday morning.

A section of Chapin Road between Primrose Lane and Sid Bickley Road was closed to traffic shortly before 10 a.m. after the train collided with the vehicle, Lexington County announced on Facebook.

Chapin police said minor injuries were reported from the collision, and no hazardous materials were involved.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene, a county spokesperson said.
