1 dead after tractor trailer, truck collide and hit a tree, SC highway patrols say
One person is dead following a crash on an Upstate road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2002 Dodge pickup truck was stopped at a stop sign while headed north on Old Hundred Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said. A 1999 Sterling tractor trailer was driving east on Reedy Fork Road.
When the pickup truck entered the intersection, it was struck by the tractor trailer, before both vehicles drove off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The pickup driver died, and has not yet been publicly identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
The SC Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
