One person was killed in a crash Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

At about 5:20 a.m., the driver of a 2006 Ford Focus was traveling south on Old Barnwell Road near Candlewood Road, which is about six miles east of Aiken, Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The driver, who has been identified as 34-year-old Trevor Davis, of Williston, was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:10 a.m. from injuries sustained in the accident, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.

The deceased was the only person in the car and no other vehicles were involved.

A toxicology analysis of Davis is pending, the coroner’s office said in a news release.
