1 dead, 3 injured when van and truck collide head on, SC Highway Patrol says
One person has died and three others were injured in a car crash in Lexington County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2016 Dodge van was driving west on South Lake Drive near Bluefield Road in the Red Bank area just before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday when it collided with a 2019 Dodge pickup truck that was heading east, Cpl. Nicholas Pye said.
The driver and the two passengers of the van were taken to a local hospital, where the driver died. The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified them.
The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.
The Highway Patrol did not say how the two vehicles collided. The crash remains under investigation.
