Head-on collision leaves one dead in Anderson County, SC, Highway Patrol says

One person is dead following a head-on collision in Anderson County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on Six and Twenty Road near the intersection with Five Forks Road on Friday around 7:20 p.m., according to Master Trooper William Bennett. The collision involved two vehicles, a 2022 Ford SUV and a 2012 Nissan sedan.

The Ford, carrying three people, was traveling west on Five Forks Road while the driver and sole occupant of the Nissan was traveling east. The operator of the Nissan struck the Ford head-on, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bennett.

The three occupants inside the Ford suffered injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

The identity of the driver killed in the crash has not yet been released by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation, according to Bennett.
