SC man killed when vehicle runs off road and crashes into tree, coroner says
A South Carolina man was killed Tuesday night when the motorcycle he was riding crashed, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.
Cody Ryan Crenshaw, a 27-year-old Easley resident, is the motorcycle driver who died, Coroner Andrew Wilson said.
The single-vehicle collision happened at about 8:20 p.m. in Pickens County, said Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Crenshaw was driving a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Allgood Farm Road, according to Glover. Near the junction with S.C. 183 the motorcycle ran off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree, Glover said.
Crenshaw, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, according to Wilson.
The coroner said that Crenshaw was the only person on the motorcycle, and no other injuries were reported.
Information about what caused the motorcycle to veer off the road was not available, but Wilson said his office and the Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the wreck.
Through Sunday, 278 people had died on South Carolina roads in 2025, according to the state Department of Public Safety. Last year, at least 948 people died in crashes in South Carolina, DPS reported.
At least six people have died in Pickens County crashes in 2025, according to DPS data. There were 17 deaths in the county in 2024, DPS reported.
